Print journalists rarely relied on tape recorders in 1985. I grabbed mine as a quick afterthought on my way out of the door. Over May 12 and May 13, I recorded (and thus documented), from the house across the street and Cobbs Creek Parkway, the preliminaries to this American tragedy. The recordings are uncut and unedited.
